Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art
International centre for contemporary art. Offers a constantly changing programme of exhibitions & events.
Opened in 2002 in a converted flour mill on the South bank of the River Tyne. It was the 2001 venue for The Turner Prize.

Golf
Alnmouth Golf Club 01665 830231 overlooks the splendours of both Foxton & Alnmouth Bay. Alnmouth Village Golf Course is England's oldest 9 hole course.
Bamburgh is 20 minutes away and hilly but with stunning views.
Embleton is 15 minutes away with fabulous views of Dunstunburgh Castle and rest of coast and will take dogs.
Goswick is also a well known course up the coast.
Life drawing classes are available at Barter Books.
There is a secret beach through the farm at Longhoughton where you put a donation in the wall slot for the church. You can drive right to the beach with chairs picnics and rugs. Stay as long as you like
